This is what I'm wondering about....


His house was built with coax and cable throughout the house but that doesn't necessarily mean the coax is "Fios" coax. I might presume (ass out of u an me) he's replacing a router on a Fios system but that ain't necessarily so. My house has the Fios coax which was installed after the house was built so I know exactly what it is, his, I don't. Since that was 20 years ago, it doesn't surprise me at all that cat5 does the job just as well and that's what that port is for, ie cheaper to run.
